About The Label

jasmine-bio

Launched in New York Fashion Week in February 2016, Jasmine Chong embraces quiet luxury - creating meticulously crafted womenswear pieces that marry the romance of rich detailing with the functionality of pret-a-porter. The designer weaves rich and personal stories through a canvas of colour, silhouette, texture and form, producing pieces that are sculptural, romantic and meaningful - each garment an unapologetic commitment to celebrating the female form.

The label is for the woman who is soft, yet also strong. Jasmine Chong is proudly designed and made in New York’s Garment District. The brand has been covered in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, and others.

As a little girl in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Jasmine found early design inspiration from following her mother to fabric stores and gazing as she made dresses on a black 1950s Singer sewing machine. Prior to starting her label, Jasmine worked under designers Anna Sui, Thakoon, Marchesa, Halston, and Tory Burch.

Jasmine graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) with a degree in Fashion Design, as well as from Parsons The New School for Design with a degree in Fashion Business, Marketing and Merchandising.
